One US Soldier Dead, Nine Wounded in Green on Blue Shooting

In its initial statement, the Pentagon said Lallier was killed when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire and grenades. It later issued another statement saying the incident was caused by individuals in Afghan police uniforms who turned their weapons against his unit.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. — A 20-year-old Army soldier stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina has died in Afghanistan after his unit was attacked by individuals in Afghan police uniforms.

The Defense Department said Tuesday that Pfc. Jarrod A. Lallier of Spokane, Wash., died from wounds suffered in the attack in Kandahar province in Afghanistan.

On Monday, individuals dressed in Afghan police uniforms turned their guns on their U.S. partners, leaving one American service member dead and nine other U.S. troops injured, U.S. officials said. They spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the incident in Zhari district, which is still under investigation.

  1. The army in Iraq does not allow Afgans to walk around with guns near our soldiers, clearly Afgan police cannot be trusted enough is enough.
