Jordan- Israeli demining operations to take place near Balqa on Today

MENAFN – Jordan Times  May 24, 2012

The Jordan Armed Forces on Wednesday said Israeli troops will work on removing anti-tank mines in the land opposite Al Rabei area in Deir Alla in Balqa Governorate on Thursday.

The mine clearance will be carried out from 8:00am to 7:00pm, according to a source from the JAF, who noted that Jordan has requested that Israelis abide by the amounts of explosives previously agreed on during demining operations.

Each year, the United States ships “military supplies” to Israel.  This isn’t military aid but rather billions in primarily munitions that are designated as “offshore storage” for the US Department of Defense in order to replenish munitions used in Iraq and Afghanistan. Each year, these munitions are sold without the “knowledge” of the United States, year after year, billions in munitions, much of it illegal technology transfer or designated “weapons of mass destruction.”

Today, the United States and Great Britain threatened Libya with direct military action if attacks using advanced and prohibited weapons continue.  Special operations units of Britain’s SAS, supplemented groups from several American agencies and commands are currently assessing the situation “on the ground’ in Libya.  Reports indicate the possible deployment of one tactical nuclear weapon against a rebel supply depot several days ago.

Sources in both Britain and the United States also report there is evidence of the deployment of chemical weapons and that Libya’s stock of illegal cluster munitions has been drawn upon in early fighting.

Australia sends Israeli diplomat packing

CANBERRA, Australia, May 24 (UPI) — Australia’s foreign minister told Parliament that Israel has a week to send home a diplomat at its embassy after evidence that Israel forged Australian passports.

In a strongly worded speech Steven Smith rebuked Israel for faking four Australian passports used in the assassination of senior Palestinian Hamas official Mahmud al-Mabhuh in a Dubai hotel room in January.

Australian Federal Police along with the Australian Security Intelligence Organization and its externally oriented counterpart the Australian Secret Intelligence Service investigated the forgeries.

Other faked passports used in the elaborately planned killing were from France, Germany, Ireland and Britain.

“The high quality of these counterfeited passports points to the involvement of a state intelligence service,” Smith said.

“Investigations and advice have left the government in no doubt Israel was responsible for the abuse and counterfeiting of these passports. Read the full story here
