Virginia Beach based SEAL killed in Afghanistan
Update
Kantor died as a result of a gunshot wound suffered in combat in southern Afghanistan, according to a press release from Naval Special Warfare Group Two.
Kantor was assigned to Naval Special Warfare Group Two which is based in Virginia Beach.

ZABUL, AFGHANISTAN – A locally based Navy SEAL supporting Operation Enduring Freedom was killed in Afghanistan Saturday.
Petty Officer 2nd Class Matthew G. Kantor, 22, of Gillette, N.J., died supporting stability operations in Zabul, Afghanistan, according to news release from the Department of Defense.
Kantor was assigned to the Naval Special Warfare unit based in Virginia Beach.

A United Nations Mine Action Employee has filed a lawsuit against
for negligence after stepping on a landmine resulting in an immediate below the knee amputation in an area previously cleared by and certified clear of landmines by Ronco Consulting.
The United Nations board of inquiry found that Ronco failed to find the mine that injured Mr Fartham as well as three other mines.
The complaint states that Ronco Consulting, acting through it’s agents and/or employee’s, breached it’s professional duty of care to Fantham and did not exercise the reasonable care and skill expected of professional mine clearance companies.

My heart hurts for this young brave man and his family. My son called and is part of this team and was very upset about his brother Matt. This war makes no sense and these men are not wanted there and they need to come home. The Afghanis can fight their own battles. President Obama said he would bring home the troops if he was elected. That was 4 years ago. These stories beed to be front and center. This pain goes on each day and now this fine young man will be remembered as a hero. I am so sorry Kantor family.
